Improve Your Sleep for a Better Life!

Do you snore? Or suffer from sleep apnoea? These are signs of disorders in your body you may not be aware of. So, what are you going to do about them?

Snoring

Throat weakness and a mispositioned jaw are just some of the causes of snoring. Even sleeping on your back causes your tongue to drop to your mouth’s back!

Snoring deprives you of sleep and those around you.  It also causes daytime drowsiness, irritability, lack of focus and even decreased libido! Studies reveal a positive link between loud snoring and risk of heart attack. And that’s only for snoring!

Sleep Apnoea

With sleep apnoea, you have shallow, infrequent breathing during sleep. Each pause can last for several seconds to minutes and may occur 5 to 30 times or more in an hour! Untreated, it’s strongly linked to heart disease and hypertension.

Sleep apnoeacan go for years undetected. The first signs may be chronic daytime fatigue and a constant need for stimulants (like caffeine) during the day. Other common effects include a slower reaction time and vision problems. Sleep apnoea affects some children, too!

Surprisingly Common

Yet surprisingly, snoring and sleep apnoea are common. A study from the University of Sydney revealed:

“Out of men tested, 81% snored with 25% having breathing problems.”

Chronic blocked sinuses, enlarged tonsils or collapsed airway cause insufficient oxygen resulting in sleep apnoea.
